Jsc Associates Revitalizes Urban Culture through Innovative Design

Jsc Associates drew inspiration from the concept of a "Spiritual Fortress". The aim was to create a space that would continuously introduce wonderful cultural and art exhibitions and activities, providing a multi-dimensional experience for all visitors. The design injects new impetus into urban culture, interacting with traditional culture to create a fusion that is both impactful and harmonious.

The uniqueness of this design lies in its careful consideration of the relationship with the surrounding community. The challenge was to form a unique and integrated commonness without destroying the relationship between the original buildings. The designers likened this task to "dancing in shackles", requiring flexibility and creativity to find freedom within constraints.

The realization of this design is marked by the "installation staircase", the heart of the interior space and the soul of the art. The staircase, with its irregular geometric lines, provides a space for communication and interaction. Combined with the blue and white blocks, the space elevates the artistic value and visual impact to the utmost.

The design spans about 500 square meters and is located in Changsha, China. The project was completed within a span of four months, from August to November 2020. It was a collaborative effort by the Jsc Design Associates team, who were committed to promoting the communication and development of culture and art, creating a diversified public space and a community platform for young people.

Breakthrough and Rebirth faced several challenges, including envisioning the future of a traditional cultural ancient city. The design adds imagination with its cutting-edge attitude and creative space settings, as well as the functionality of the space and the certainty and predictability of old blocks. This project is a testament to the power of design in revitalizing urban culture and fashion, and fostering the continuous innovation of lifestyle and experience.

The design was awarded Silver in A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2021. The award is a testament to the design's outstanding expertise and innovation, its strong technical characteristics, and splendid artistic skill. Breakthrough and Rebirth is a remarkable example of how design can introduce positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
